Voices of Bradfield
Be Heard. Be Represented.
Welcome to Voices of Bradfield. We are a vibrant community that is working hard to strengthen and enhance the integrity of democracy, and achieve meaningful representation of our community in federal Parliament.
On 10 October 2024 the Australian Electoral Commission’s augmented Electoral Commission for NSW finalised the redistribution of electoral boundaries for the next federal election. The final boundaries are substantially the same as those announced in the initial draft, released on 14 June 2024, which included the abolition of the Division of North Sydney.
As a result, Bradfield moves south to include the suburbs of Willoughby, Artarmon, Middle Cove, Castle Crag, Northbridge, Naremburn and St Leonards.
We welcome the communities in these suburbs to the wonderful electorate of Bradfield. If you live in one of these suburbs, and are interested to find out what we do, sign up to our newsletter.
Here on our website and in our newsletter we will soon be providing more updates about our ongoing work across Bradfield.

Meet our new Executive team
At our AGM held on 10 August 2024 in Gordon, our members elected our new Executive team, with Nick O'Brien as President. We also said goodbye and heartfelt thanks to Helen Cannon (former President) and Kate Clancy for their service to Voices of Bradfield.
Subsequent to that meeting we have had two changes to the Executive. As a result of the redistribution, Carolyn Crossman no longer lives in Bradfield, and she has therefore resigned from the position of Vice President. Further, at the recent council elections, Indu Balachandran was successfully elected as Councillor in the Ku-rin-gai Council. Indu has resigned from the Executive to avoid any potential for conflict of interest between her role on council and her role with VoB. We thank both Carolyn (a founding member of VoB) and Indu for their contributions to the Executive, and to Voices of Bradfield more broadly.
You can read more about our new team here.
We are Voices of Bradfield
Voices of Bradfield calls for integrity and effectiveness in Federal politics. We are building a voice in our democracy for the people of Bradfield, our electorate on the North Shore of Sydney.
We did that in the 2022 Federal election by supporting a community independent candidate, Nicolette Boele. Nicolette's campaign was hugely successful. We turned a very safe Liberal seat into a marginal seat.
We have endorsed Nicolette as our community independent candidate in the next Federal election (or by-election) and she's announced that she will run again.

Our electorate of Bradfield
The electorate of Bradfield was formed in the 1949 expansion of Parliament, and has been a safe Liberal Party seat until 2022, when it became marginal.
Today, Bradfield is a highly-educated and diverse community, with 53% of adult residents having a Bachelor degree and above (NSW: 28%).
Over 48% of Bradfield residents were born overseas (NSW: 34%), with significant communities speaking Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Hindi and Persian.
